Qualifications:

In addition to approximately three years of experience in digital agency, advertising agency, PR/brand agency, public interest advocacy, or demonstrated equivalent experience, with preference for experience at an agency, we are looking for candidates with strong track record of:

  • Executing executing a variety of digital campaigns, from research to implementation

What you’ll do at Fenton:

  • Oversee and direct multiple projects at a time (within a given brand or client or potentially across multiple brands or clients) or a singular, large scale or highly complex project, and ensuring that these projects meet or exceed internal team and client expectations and are delivered on-time and on-budget
  • Provide the structure and support the overall vision for assigned projects  (e.g. web development, advertising, media, strategy, technology, etc)
  • Within that role the senior project manager will likely be responsible for supervising one or more junior staff assigned to the account
  • Interface heavily with senior marketing, technical and executive management within the client team to assure that the goal is understood and addresses the customer’s business requirements.
  • Ensure that the challenge and requirements are understood by the account team and will participate in the solution developed by the team
  • Responsible for the accurate financial management of the portfolio of projects to which they’re assigned
  • Oversee all aspects of projects: scope, risk, schedule, budget, quality and communication to stakeholders’ fullest satisfaction
  • Lead internal and external status meetings effectively; capture, store and distribute meeting notes
  • Evaluate new work requests, identify resources needed, assign individual responsibilities, and schedule action items
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to internal teams and/or client stakeholders

Qualifications:

In addition to 3-5 years of experience in digital work or demonstrated equivalent experience, with preference for experience at a digital, PR, marketing or brand agency, we are looking for candidates with strong track record of:

  • Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following: website project life cycles, web technologies, delivery of solutions with creative and development components, media and advertising projects, digital strategy projects

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Be a strong leader and partner to the business and provide financial direction to the executive management team
  • Manage the accounting and finance infrastructure of the organization with an emphasis on cultivating a strong team that can execute finance transactions efficiently and provide the requisite strength in functional accounting and internal controls.
  • Enhance and continue to develop the finance team emphasizing strong financial disciplines, reporting and controls.
  • Overall responsibility for accuracy of the Agency’s books and records and general ledger.
  • Manage the system of accounting policies and procedures as well as internal controls for the Agency. Ensure proper segregation of duties and recommend approval authorities.
  • Manage a monthly accounting closing process that culminates with the delivery of key financial reports to stakeholders and banking partners, as required.
  • Ensure management reporting supports the operation of the organization – designing reports for department heads with consideration toward segmentation between vertical and horizontal lines.
  • Develop the annual budget and track performance against the budget. (Emphasis on cost control and designing tools that facilitate departmental accountability. Additional focus on project management and cost control as a key margin contributor for the Agency.)
  • Oversee accuracy of direct costs and ensure proper determination of indirect costs on pricing and project markups.
  • Evaluate and update product pricing policy and procedures and provide input to pricing of new and existing services/products.
  • Review and approve pricing for all major contracts.
  • Be heavily involved in IT decision-making around systems, controls and standards.
  • Oversee and manage the capital expenditure budget, including computer equipment and software, be heavily involved in managing costs in the media purchasing/supplies/services categories.
  • Manage the balance sheet, cash flow and capital structure
  • Cash Forecasting and cash flow management including generating rolling 3 and 6 month forecasts.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable collection and credit policies.

Fenton, the leading social change agency, is seeking a Vice President of New Business and Client Relations. We have contributed to some of the defining movements of the past quarter century, from ending apartheid and curbing global warming to protecting people from harmful toxins. We are looking for a senior communications leader with a passion for social change to join our team in DC.

The VP plays a pivotal role in new business activities, working with Senior Vice Presidents (SVP) and Managing Directors (MD) to cultivate and deliver new business through innovative approaches. The Vice President (VP) plays a leadership role in the office and leads a variety of social change accounts ranging in topic matter from education and health, to climate change, CSR, and human rights. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Client Relations (55%):

  • Taking a leadership role in a practice area, such as public health, human rights, or the environment (among others), from project oversight to new business
  • Managing senior level client relationships and acting as counsel on strategic planning, positioning, messaging and all communications programming
  • Ensuring that work produced by project team is of the highest quality and meets deadlines
  • Providing day-to-day oversight of multiple large accounts, including scoping, strategic counsel, quality control, and evaluation of account progress and client satisfaction
  • Ensuring that assigned clients receive regular status reports and budget updates
  • Writing contracts, grant proposals, high level strategy memos, and work plans
  • Overseeing the development of strategy documents, communication plans, memos, press kits, and other collaterals by staff

We are looking for a dynamic and seasoned communications professional to lead our West Coast team as Managing Director of two offices: San Francisco and Los Angeles. BACKGROUND: 

Children Without Worms (CWW) is an international non-governmental public health program, a partnership of Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, and the Task Force for Global Health. The program supports efforts to reduce the burden of STH in at-risk populations who have limited access to safe and effective treatment. STH is a disease of poverty, affecting the health, cognitive development, and earning potential of some 600 million children in 108 countries worldwide. After years of relative neglect, STH control is now at a crucial point in its development. Momentum is building. Johnson & Johnson and GlaxoSmithKline have committed to donate up to 600 million doses of deworming drugs each year for treatment of school-age children. In April, 2014 a coalition of partners committed significant new resources (~$120M) to strengthen STH control activity. CWW is charged with playing a central role in the development of this partnership and in facilitating communication and knowledge sharing. To support this expanded role, CWW is recruiting a Communications Manager. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape and build a communications platform that will enable a dynamic, global coalition of diverse partners to address one of the most widespread human infections in the world – a cause of untold morbidity and lost human potential.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Communications Manager is responsible for providing a broad range of external organizational communications services and support to the CWW team, as well as to the global partners engaged in control of soil-transmitted helminthiasis (STH). Under the direction of the Director of Partnerships, the Communications Manager coordinates with CWW staff, donors, and partners to develop and implement integrated communication plans driven by CWW’s overall communications strategy. His/Her responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Identifies external communications opportunities and effectively collaborates with stakeholders to define/execute appropriate strategies to support them.
  • Creates promotional and communications tools.
  • Engages external consultants with expertise in communications strategy, public and media relations to develop and execute implementation plans for CWW’s communications strategy, including development of key messaging.
  • Works with consulting communications strategists to develop sub-strategies for CWW’s various external communications platforms including website, social media, newsletter, print materials, and other. Manages the implementation of these sub-strategies.
    • Originates written materials which support CWW and the global STH control effort, including, but not limited to, briefs and fliers, articles, newsletters, blog posts, and website content.
    • Supports the design, implementation and maintenance of CWW’s website. Manages day-to-day website maintenance and updating; creates news content and blog posts; addresses inquiries that come through the CWW website.
    • Maintains CWW’s Quarterly Dose e-newsletter. Formulates, researches, writes and edits articles and content; works with partners to feature guest-authored articles and develop stories; manages the newsletter’s contact database; tracks and measures performance of newsletter.
    • Manages CWW’s social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.). Creates and posts new content on a regular basis and builds CWW’s audience on these channels.
  • Develops and implements promotional strategies for CWW’s knowledge management tools. Works with Decision Support Analyst to identify and target key audiences for knowledge management tools; plans and implements launch of these tools and disseminates them through appropriate networks to ensure maximum uptake by target users. Works with web designers to integrate these tools into CWW’s website.
  • Works with STH and NTD partners to identify and communicate stories of people/communities impacted by STH as well as those working to combat it; promotes communications pieces through partner networks to amplify messages; provides guidance to external communicators and partners to maintain consistent messaging.
  • Collaborates with communications teams and representatives of our pharmaceutical donors to create and pitch op-eds, press releases and other high-visibility pieces in the media.
  • Works with donors to solicit feedback and approval of external communications.
  • Monitors news coverage and external landscape for issues and events that could have implications for our work.
  • Identifies key conferences and forums for project communications, coordinates with staff on level of participation; creates talking points for CWW leadership; represents CWW at public events as appropriate.
