The Fenton Social Media Grant

Social media tools like Twitter and Facebook present exciting new opportunities for nonprofits to do online outreach, but many organizations lack the resources to explore them – especially right now.

As we start looking ahead to a new year, we want to help you break new ground and continue your good work during these difficult economic times, Fenton is offering a $10,000 Social Media Grant to nonprofits in the Washington, DC area. This is the perfect opportunity for your organization if you're ready to jump into the social media waters but are unsure about how, or if you're not sure if your current social media strategy is working. Apply now.

The selected grant recipient will receive up to $10,000 worth of social media analysis, monitoring and strategy services from Fenton Communications. Work will be completed in the winter of 2010.

SERVICES INCLUDE:

Social media audit – Fenton will survey your current social media efforts and analyze how you stack up against industry benchmarks. We will identify areas where your social media efforts are resonating with your audiences, as well as areas where they’re not – and may even be hurting your brand.

Social media monitoring – Using monitoring tools and research, we will tell you the state of the online conversation about your organization, campaign or issue. We will determine what people are saying, the language they are using, the tone of the conversation, and who the biggest influencers are.

Strategic recommendations – Based on the results of your audit and monitoring report, Fenton will provide five strategic recommendations to help you integrate social media into your communications and marketing efforts. These recommendations will be specific to your goals and audiences and tailored to your organization’s capacity.

HOW TO APPLY:
To enter you must be a Washington, DC area nonprofit organization interested in expanding your mission or campaign through social media. Deadline for entries is December 18th.
