Tamara Murray
Senior Account Executive
Tamara Murray brings a wide range of legislative, political and organizing expertise to Fenton, as well as a background in civil liberties and reproductive justice. At Fenton, Murray is on the health, women's and media relations teams. She provides communications strategy and support for a diverse set of clients, including the California Wellness Foundation, the National Center for Lesbian Rights and Maddie's Fund.
Prior to joining Fenton, Murray served on the staff of NARAL Pro-Choice California, where she coordinated strategic communications with elected officials and grassroots activists statewide. She helped craft and implement the winning strategy to defeat Proposition 85, a dangerous initiative that would have required parental notification for abortion care. She also managed NARAL Pro-Choice California's media response to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in the federal abortion-ban case, highlighting how the ban trumped California's constitutional protections for women's health.
Murray was formerly with the American Civil Liberties Union of San Diego and Imperial Counties. From 2005 to 2007, she served on the executive committee of the California National Organization for Women. She has placed stories in many major media outlets, including the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Jose Mercury News and The San Diego Union-Tribune.
