Ami Watkin brings a background in public policy and nonprofit marketing to Fenton Communications. At Fenton, Watkin carries out media relations, research and writing, focusing on international health and women’s issues. Prior to joining Fenton, Watkin worked with Make Waves: Impact Marketing for Nonprofits, a New York-based public relations firm specializing in nonprofit media relations strategy. There, she garnered media attention for clients such as Wider Opportunities for Women and SmartTransportation.org in a variety of outlets including the Christian Science Monitor, The Chicago Tribune, and Air America. Watkin also helped create advocacy campaigns and publications for groups such as the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of New York.

Watkin previously worked with Girl Scouts of the USA on Capitol Hill coordinating legislative visits and providing administrative and event planning support, including the Girl Scouts’ National Advocacy Day. She is fluent in Spanish.
