New Ambassador for the Republic of Ecuador
Ending a nine-month hiatus in ambassadorial relations, Ecuador’s new ambassador to the United States, Nathalie Cely, presented her credentials to the White House and promised to work to strengthen bilateral relations with the Obama Administration. The meeting came shortly after the Mexico-based international polling firm, Consulta Mitofski ranked Ecuador’s President Correa among the most popular leaders in the hemisphere. Fenton has worked with the Republic of Ecuador on a wide range of projects since 2007. Senate Republicans so far have blocked the confirmation of a new U.S. ambassador to Quito.
