It’s National Influenza Vaccination Week
Creating healthy communities is a shared responsibility among all of us. That’s why Fenton is delighted to work on behalf of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and their annual influenza vaccination campaign.
December 4 – 10 is National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW), and CDC and its partners across the country are stressing the importance of flu vaccination – through holding events, using social media to spread the word, and other means.
Recently Fenton’s own DC office got down to business when employees received the flu vaccine. Watch it below.
Did you know the flu can affect up to 20% of the U.S. population and cause more than 200,000 people to be hospitalized every year? CDC recommends that everyone over six months of age get vaccinated. Older adults, young children, and those with certain health conditions are at higher risk; by getting vaccinated we protect not only ourselves but those around us as well.
The best gift for yourself and others this holiday season is a flu vaccination. Find out where you can get one using the Flu Vaccine Finder. You can learn more at http://cdc.gov/flu/ or by tracking #NIVW on twitter and participating in the National Influenza Vaccination Week Twitter chat on Thursday, December 4 at 1pm ET.
Together, we’re creating healthier communities, one flu vaccine and one healthy individual at a time.
