Elly Woolston today joins Fenton as Director of its London office. In this role, Woolston will help expand the firm’s European presence and grow its global network.

Woolston joins Fenton after previously serving as Chairman and prior to that Managing Director at DMS, a charitable marketing agency, which she joined in 2008. Within two years she helped the agency move from a direct marketing based business, with revenue from print production, to an integrated communications business, with retained fees for thinking, creativity, and service.

Previously Woolston was a founding partner of Proximity London (formerly BHWG). Which she helped build from 5 people to a 300 person agency in less than 10 years. While at Proximity London, Woolston was Chairman and headed many of the agencies largest accounts including Volkswagen, Save the Children, Unilever, RNLI, WWF, and British Red Cross.

“Fenton has a reputation for merging communications excellence with the most pressing issues of our time,” said Woolston. “I look forward to helping our clients develop ground breaking and innovative campaigns that capture imaginations, change behaviour and drive progress.”

Fenton opened a London office in 2012. In July 2012, Fenton announced the appointment of leading academic, campaigner, and thinker Professor Noreena Hertz, as its UK Chairman and in November 2012 it appointed ex-Downing Street adviser, Jo Gibbons. Clients in London include the Bernard van Leer Foundation, the Dutch foundation whose mission is to improve opportunities for children up to age 8 growing up in socially and economically difficult circumstances; The Gender Equality Project, the only global business certification for gender equality; and The Climate Group, an independent, not-for-profit organization working to inspire and catalyze leadership for a Clean Revolution: a low carbon future that is smarter, better, and more prosperous.

“Elly Woolston has vast experience building successful communication agencies,” said David Fenton, Founder and CEO of Fenton. “Elly is an acknowledged communications expert in not for profit and the consumer sector. We are thrilled that she has joined our team. We are impatient for social change and so is she.”
