The package tackled various views including bullfighting’s historic ties to culture, as well as the animal cruelty involved.  Rendon’s passion for human rights led her to intern at the International Rescue Committee in Miami, where she assisted caseworkers in case management.

Rendon interned at NBCMiami, where she gained expertise in local news operations and became the Ethnic editor for her school’s online newspaper,  The Miami Desk.  After completing the internship, she was hired by a local newspaper as a general assignment reporter. Her work was published in The Miami Planet, a production made by the University of Miami, Florida International University and Miami Dade College for the Society of Environmental Journalists Conference.
