Mikaela Beardsley

Mikaela Beardsley brings over 15 years of experience producing award-winning, critically acclaimed and socially engaged documentary television to Fenton. Currently, Beardsley is executive producing an ambitious transmedia project inspired by Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, by Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. Working in close collaboration with the authors, she originated the project in 2007, and HALF THE SKY now includes a multi-part PBS television series, social networking game, and communications capacity building for over 50 partner NGOs. Some of Beardsley’s recent credits include Reporter: A Film with Nicholas D. Kristof, I am an Animal: The Story of Ingrid Newkirk and PETA, and Martin Scorsese Presents: The Blues. Beardsley began her television career at WGBH in Boston, and holds a BA in comparative literature from Princeton University.
