Kate Murphy
Account Coordinator
Kate Murphy is a member of Fenton’s Global Issues and Health teams. She has a background in research and nonprofit work, including on-the-ground experience working for a global nonprofit in Cambodia. At Fenton she provides research and analysis and digital support to the Centers for Disease Control, The Annie E. Casey Foundation, and Enerkem, a company that develops renewable biofuels from waste.
Prior to joining Fenton, Murphy spent nine months living and working in Siem Reap, Cambodia as a Minerva Fellow, a post-graduate fellowship through her alma mater Union College. There she worked with The Global Child, a nonprofit that provides education for former street children. She taught English, art and football and played an active role in the administration and direction of the school. She also was involved in business development, directing the advertising and marketing for a small café and boutique that sponsored the school. Murphy received her B.A. in political science from Union College. While at Union, she focused on international politics, specifically on the United States nation-building efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq. She has also worked in Washington D.C. for Senator Sheldon Whitehouse.
