Joel Finkelstein
Senior Vice President, Washington, D.C.
Joel Finkelstein is a leader of Fenton’s environmental team, working with such clients and projects as the Pew Campaign for Fuel Efficiency, the National Environmental Trust (NET), Greenpeace, the Earth Day Network, Appalachian Voices, and ecoAmerica. He is also a member of Fenton’s public health team, working with the National Association of Community Health Centers and the American Public Health Association. He has a decade of experience crafting winning campaign strategies for a broad range of environmental health and political issues.
Prior to joining Fenton, Finkelstein worked at NET, where he ran national media relations for high-visibility campaigns that changed the debate on global warming, air pollution and toxic waste. He helped create and execute the organization’s increased rapid-response capability. Finkelstein spent the 2000 election cycle in Michigan, where he ran a rapid-response and tracking operation for the state Democratic Party that helped defeat an incumbent U.S. senator. Before that, he served as press secretary for Congressman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY).
