Elysha Rom-Povolo specializes in media relations and online strategy. She has led social media research and messaging projects on issues including climate change and health care reform. Rom-Povolo has worked on campaigns to combat teen smoking, to grow and diversify California’s health workforce, and to encourage social entrepreneurism among retired baby boomers. Her work with Reverend Janet Edwards helped position the Reverend as one of the nation’s leading progressive faith leaders supportive of LGBT equality.

Rom-Povolo has placed stories in national media including USA Today, U.S. News & World Report, and Education Week, regional outlets including  The San Francisco Chronicle and many radio, T.V. and online outlets.

Prior to Fenton, Rom-Povolo worked on issues ranging from international development to education in California, Illinois and abroad for a Chicago-based public affairs firm and for the Foundation for Sustainable Development. A native of Michigan, she has a B.S. in social policy and education from Northwestern University and also studied at the School for International Training in Bolivia where she conducted research on political ideologies of the disenfranchised.
