Derek Hampton began as an intern with Fenton while a graduate student in The School of Political Management at the George Washington University and then joined the global issues team to focus on Fenton’s work with the Republic of Ecuador.

Prior to moving to Washington, D.C., Hampton worked as a public opinion analyst at Felipe Noguera Consultores in his native Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has worked as a consultant in strategic communications and message development in electoral campaigns –mostly at a presidential level – and also in government communications in various Latin American countries including Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Argentina. Derek was actively involved in the last presidential election in Guatemala. Hampton has also worked on advocacy campaigns and in grass-roots lobbying for members of the private sector. Hampton has a bachelor’s degree in international relations form the Catholic University of Argentina.
